Travel plans, both domestic and international, have been significantly impacted, with commuters advised against non-essential journeys due to severe weather conditions. Sydney Airport has reported the cancellation of at least 87 flights, affecting both arrivals and departures, and further disruptions are expected as heavy rain and strong winds persist throughout the day.
Transport for NSW has also announced the cancellation of numerous train services, citing safety concerns stemming from the wild weather, including fallen trees obstructing the tracks. In light of these disruptions, they have urged train passengers to avoid non-essential travel across the rail network, emphasising the damage to infrastructure caused by the adverse conditions.
