The Western Australian Liberals plan to publicly disclose the identities of any criminals who escape from prison if they secure victory in the upcoming March 8 elections. Leader Libby Mettam has pledged a review of the Prisoners Review Board within the first 100 days of their governance, asserting that the current Cook Labor government has not adequately protected the community by ensuring that dangerous offenders remain incarcerated.

On the other side, the Labor Party is prioritising the pressing issues surrounding homeownership, acknowledging the rising housing costs that are affecting many West Australians. Their housing strategy includes enhancements to the Keystart program, which aims to support first-time buyers by allowing the state to own 35 per cent of properties purchased off-the-plan, thus making it easier for individuals to enter the housing market with lower deposit requirements.
