On February 19, 1994, Gloria Ramirez was taken to a California hospital, where an unsettling series of events ensued. As medical staff attempted to revive the 31-year-old using CPR and a defibrillator, they detected an unusual odour reminiscent of garlic and noted her notably oily skin. This eerie scenario escalated when three staff members collapsed in rapid succession, prompting distress among the rest of the team, many of whom reported feeling unwell. Despite their efforts, Ramirez was declared dead after 45 minutes of unsuccessful resuscitation attempts. Following her passing, her body was sealed in an airtight container to presumably prevent further incidents. In total, 23 individuals in the vicinity of Ramirez experienced symptoms of illness, with five requiring hospitalisation. This peculiar case raised numerous questions about the circumstances surrounding her death and the events that unfolded in the hospital.
