A homicide investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man with stab wounds at a residence in Belmore, a suburb in south-west Sydney. Police received a welfare check call on Saturday night around 9pm and subsequently found the man, believed to be in his 30s, with multiple stab injuries upon their arrival.
A 24-year-old man present at the scene was taken to Concord Hospital under police supervision and later questioned at the Campsie police station. As of early the following morning, no charges had been made, and the victim’s identity had yet to be confirmed.
The investigation is being conducted by the Homicide Squad from the State Crime Command, in collaboration with local police as they progress with their inquiries.
