Emergency services were alerted around 5:35 PM and despite paramedics’ efforts to revive the child, she could not be saved, prompting police to label the situation an “absolute tragedy.”
Authorities stated that the infant’s prolonged confinement in the vehicle on such a hot day could have fatal consequences. The car’s owner, reportedly related to the child, was taken to hospital in shock and will speak with police when able. The girl’s mother is also assisting in the investigation.
