Oscar-nominated actor Haley Joel Osment has recently been arrested and charged with public intoxication and possession of cocaine following an incident at a ski resort in Northern California earlier this month. The Mono County District Attorney’s office revealed these misdemeanor charges against the 37-year-old actor, widely known for his childhood roles in “The Sixth Sense” and “A.I.”

The arrest occurred on April 8 at Mammoth Mountain ski resort, where Osment was taken into custody on allegations of public intoxication, according to District Attorney David Anderson. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment on July 7. A representative for Osment has yet to respond to requests for comments on these charges.

Osment gained prominence after receiving an Oscar nomination for his role alongside Bruce Willis in M. Night Shyamalan’s acclaimed thriller, “The Sixth Sense.” He further solidified his place in Hollywood with his performance in Steven Spielberg’s “A.I.” and has maintained a steady career, lending his voice to various projects and appearing in television series like “The Kominsky Method” and “What We Do in the Shadows.”

In addition to his acting career, it’s been noted that Osment, like many others, faced significant challenges following the January Eaton Fire that devastated the Altadena community near Los Angeles, where he lost his home.

Notably, this is not Osment’s first brush with the law; back in 2006, he faced charges of driving under the influence and marijuana possession after a car accident in Los Angeles that resulted in a broken rib. His recent legal troubles have drawn attention to his personal struggles as he navigates life in the public eye.
