An investigation is currently ongoing following a shooting incident in Marsfield, a suburb in Sydney’s north, where multiple shots were fired at a 28-year-old man. The attack occurred around 1 am as the man stood on Wilga Street, with the shots discharged from a vehicle. Fortunately, he was unharmed; however, stray bullets struck nearby homes, including one that broke a window in a residence over a kilometre away on Ruse Street in North Ryde.

Despite the potential for injury, there were no casualties reported due to the gunfire. Law enforcement responded swiftly, and roughly 20 minutes after the initial incident, they were alerted to a car fire on Mardi Street in Girraween. Arriving at the scene, police discovered a black sedan engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished, and authorities suspect that both the shooting and the vehicle fire are linked.

This disturbing incident has raised concerns about safety in the area, highlighting the risks associated with gun violence and the need for community vigilance. The investigation is expected to continue as police work to establish the motivations behind the shooting and connect any further dots between the two incidents.
