Police have arrested a man in connection with a daylight shooting that occurred in Sydney’s Inner West almost two years ago. The incident took place on July 7, 2023, at approximately 1:50pm, when brothers William and Eric Siale were shot outside a barbershop on Marrickville Road. Paramedics promptly attended to the victims, who were then transported to hospital, with one suffering serious injuries.
Following the shooting, two burnt-out vehicles were discovered in areas close to the incident, specifically in Marrickville and Dulwich Hill, which were believed to be related to the crime. Authorities set up crime scenes and initiated an investigation led by the detectives of Strike Force Orsino.
Previously, police had charged 14 individuals in relation to the shooting, all of whom are currently facing legal proceedings. In a recent development, a 23-year-old man was apprehended during a raid at a property in Edmondson Park, situated in Sydney’s south-west. He faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, involvement in a criminal organisation, drug supply offences, and non-compliance with an order to provide digital evidence. This individual is scheduled to appear in court today.
