A grassfire has disrupted train operations in Sydney’s south-west, particularly affecting services on the T2 Leppington, Inner West Line, and T5 Cumberland Line. Trains are currently suspended between Glenfield and Leppington in both directions due to the fire located near Edmondson Park.

Transport for NSW has indicated that while replacement buses have been requested, they are not yet in operation. Consequently, trains that would typically either start or terminate at Leppington will now begin and end their journeys at Glenfield.

The nearby grassfire, situated close to Macquarie Links Drive, is currently categorised as being at advice level by the Rural Fire Service. Inspector Steve Brown of Fire Rescue New South Wales reported that emergency services were alerted to the situation around 12:30 PM. A response team consisting of five fire trucks and 20 firefighters has been deployed to manage the incident.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they become available.
