A daring thief broke into a family-owned jet-ski business on the Gold Coast overnight, as revealed by security footage. The footage shows the suspect, clad in a hoodie and gloves, using a crowbar to force open the glass door. Scott Jacquet, the owner of Jet Ski World, commented, “He came prepared.”
Despite the store’s alarms ringing, the intruder spent almost ten minutes searching for items of value but ultimately left without stealing anything. The CCTV footage captured the man retrieving his crowbar before making a quick escape. Jacquet noted, “I think once the alarm went off and he couldn’t find anything of value, he was out of here.”
Shortly after police arrived on the scene, the unidentified offender remained at large. Fortunately, aside from the damaged glass door, nothing was reported stolen. The incident has left the family business to deal with the aftermath, with Jacquet expressing frustration and disappointment. “We work so hard to make a dollar, and then you’ve got people like this,” he lamented.
Authorities are actively investigating the break-in and are calling on the public for any information that could assist in capturing the culprit.
