Filming has commenced on the Gold Coast for the upcoming Netflix family movie, Allen. The production team has transformed the Miami Surf Club into a vibrant kite festival site, while additional scenes will be filmed across the Sunshine Coast. The project boasts a significant scale, creating an immersive environment complete with classic amusement rides, game stalls, a Ferris wheel, and a photobooth, effectively turning Surf Parade into a temporary carnival.
Both tourists and locals have shown keen interest in the filming process. One visitor from Victoria expressed excitement, stating they were intrigued to explore the production and observe the film crew’s activities.
Allen, developed by the creators of the beloved children’s series Bluey, revolves around themes of friendship and adventure, appealing to a family audience. Furthermore, Coolum State High School is set to make an appearance in the film. The Gold Coast shoot involves around one hundred extras, and is anticipated to conclude by the end of the week.
