A fourth individual has been charged with murder in connection to the death of Zachery Davies-Scott, a 25-year-old father from the Hunter region in NSW. The fatal incident occurred during an alleged home invasion and shooting on December 27, 2022, where Davies-Scott lost his life.
Authorities assert that a group forced entry into a residence in Heddon Greta, located approximately 20 kilometres from Cessnock. During the attack, Davies-Scott was tragically shot, with police labelling the incident as a robbery that escalated dangerously. A 52-year-old woman present at the scene suffered minor injuries while attempting to fend off the assailants.
Previously, three men have already been charged with murder and are currently awaiting trial. Additionally, another woman involved was found guilty of obstructing the investigation.
In a recent operation, detectives executed a search warrant in Lambton, Newcastle, leading to the arrest of a 45-year-old man. During the raid, police seized a replica firearm, knuckle dusters, illegal drugs, and a stolen vehicle. This individual has been charged with murder and multiple firearm-related offences.
He is believed to have played a role in the criminal enterprise linked to Davies-Scott’s killing, assisting associates both prior to and following the tragic event. Following his arrest, he was denied bail and is set to appear in Newcastle Local Court today. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to piece together the details surrounding this heartbreaking case.
