Four teenagers are currently under investigation by police following an alleged assault on a 20-year-old security guard at a shopping centre in Bendigo, regional Victoria. On Monday, the young guard was reportedly punched, kicked, and stomped on after he requested that the group leave the Mitchell Street shopping area.
Witnesses who attempted to assist the security guard also faced aggression from the teenagers involved. Fortunately, the guard sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and was later discharged from the hospital.
Authorities have arrested three local girls, aged 14, 15, and 17. They have been interviewed and released while investigations continue. Additionally, a 17-year-old boy from Bendigo has been charged with affray and both intentionally and recklessly causing injury. He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear in a children’s court soon.
