Four teenage boys are set to appear in court over a disturbing case involving the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl in Liverpool, located in Sydney’s west, last December.
The incident unfolded on December 15 when a male approached the girl at a local shopping centre around 5:30 PM. Following her to her car, he managed to enter reluctantly. He is accused of initiating sexual assaults against her shortly thereafter.
The situation escalated when the male persuaded the girl to drive him to Wheat Park in Sadlier, promising he would leave upon arrival. Contrary to this understanding, two additional males entered the vehicle and further assaulted her. A fourth male subsequently joined them as the assaults continued during the drive.
The girl managed to contact a friend around 11:30 PM after the males exited her car, who then accompanied her to the police to report the incident.
In the days that followed, police undertook a series of investigations, leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old boy on December 20 at a Condell Park residence. He faces 24 charges, including multiple counts of sexual assault without consent and aggravated sexual assault. Later that morning, a 14-year-old was apprehended in Miller, charged with seven counts of aggravated sexual assault in a group.
Further investigations led to additional arrests. On December 21, police executed search warrants in Sadlier and Heckenberg. An 18-year-old man was arrested in Sadlier, facing nine counts of aggravated sexual assault, while a 19-year-old man was taken into custody in Heckenberg on five counts of the same offence. Both of these adults also face court appearances and were refused bail.
This case highlights an alarming violation and is currently receiving significant attention as authorities ensure accountability for the accused.
