In a shocking incident in Sackville, four masked men armed with machetes forcibly entered the home of a 48-year-old man. The invasion occurred around 12:30am, while the homeowner was asleep. Upon awakening to find the intruders in his bedroom, he was subsequently taken outside to the backyard, where both he and a 22-year-old man were confined in a self-contained unit.

Emergency services were alerted to the situation shortly after, responding at 1:10am. Fortunately, after approximately 40 minutes, the two men managed to break free, but the assailants had already fled the scene. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during this terrifying ordeal.

Police from Hawkesbury have cordoned off the area to conduct a thorough investigation, as they explore the possibility that this home invasion may have been a case of mistaken identity. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover more details about the incident.
