Five men and a teenage boy have been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a jewellery store in Chermside, Brisbane, last month. The robbery occurred at approximately 5 PM on June 10, when a group armed with hammers and metal bars, and wearing masks, allegedly broke into the store located on Gympie Road. They reportedly smashed several glass display cabinets, making off with a substantial quantity of jewellery.

During the incident, a 38-year-old employee was seriously injured when he was struck with a hammer. Following the robbery, the suspects fled in a grey Honda CR-V, which had been stolen from Calamvale just days before. On June 19, police located the stolen vehicle in Berrinba.

In the weeks following the robbery, police executed numerous search warrants on various properties and vehicles across Brisbane and Logan, leading to the recovery of items believed to be linked to the crime. On the night of July 11, two men, aged 25 and 22, were arrested in Spring Hill while in a vehicle. The 25-year-old faces multiple serious charges, including armed robbery, intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and child endangerment.

Additionally, three other individuals—aged 25, 29, and 20—also face charges related to the robbery. All have appeared in court for their alleged involvement. The teenage suspect, 16 years old, has been charged similarly.

Authorities are still on the lookout for a 21-year-old man from Mount Gravatt, who may have information relevant to the ongoing investigation and is known to frequent areas around Logan and Inala.

Investigations are ongoing, including possible links to a previous armed robbery in Lutwyche. Police are encouraging anyone with information to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or through their website.
