Five individuals have been charged following an assault on a 19-year-old lifeguard at a Melbourne swimming pool last month. The incident occurred on Sunday, January 19, around 5:50pm at the Park Road pool in Narre Warren, where the lifeguard was attacked by a group of youths, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries that required hospital treatment.
Following the incident, police executed search warrants in Cranbourne North and Narre Warren South. Two men, aged 19 and 18, from Cranbourne North, have been arrested and charged with affray and assault. They have been granted bail and are due to appear in court on May 23. Additionally, two 17-year-old boys from Casey are facing similar charges and will appear before court on March 3.
A 15-year-old boy from Casey has been released pending further investigations. Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man from Cranbourne North voluntarily attended a police station, where he was charged with affray and assault and subsequently bailed to appear in court on the same date as the first two men. The police continue to investigate the matter.
