Monash IVF has committed to implementing changes following the admission of a second incident concerning embryos this year. The fertility clinic disclosed this matter in a notice to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), indicating that the incident occurred on June 5 at their Clayton facility in Melbourne.
In this instance, a patient’s own embryo was incorrectly transferred back to them, rather than the intended embryo from their partner. The board of directors expressed their heartfelt apologies to the affected couple and reiterated their ongoing support for them. They attributed the mishap to “human error,” vowing to enhance their processes to prevent such occurrences in the future.
