In a troubling incident in Queensland, a couple’s cat camera recorded two burglars brazenly robbing their home in Beenleigh. The thieves made off with valuable items including jewellery, gaming consoles, cash, keys, and handbags, estimated to be worth thousands of dollars.

Summer Robson, the homeowner, expressed her dismay at the loss, particularly highlighting the sentimental value of heirlooms from her grandparents and her partner’s late father. “All of our stuff was gone,” Robson lamented, describing the ordeal as horrible. The burglars appeared calm and methodical, as if they were seasoned at such crimes, filling duffle bags with the couple’s belongings without any apparent concern.

Robson shared that the thieves utilized multiple bags, possibly up to five, to cart away their possessions, mainly clothing. She noted that she was still coming to terms with the extent of what was missing, indicating that there was likely much more taken than she had initially realised.

The suspects are reportedly in their thirties and are believed to be linked to a series of break-ins across the south-east region, including at another couple’s home in Cannon Hill. This prior victim described their own experience, detailing the theft of irreplaceable jewellery, laptops, and other electronics, cumulatively valued at more than $10,000. The emotional impact of losing cherished items was palpable, with the victim expressing disappointment at how the invasion had tainted their sense of security in their first home together.

The burglars returned to the same area on Anzac Day, targeting two more homes within the same apartment complex, highlighting their ongoing threat to residents. The aftermath of such incidents is often felt deeply, with victims left grappling with not only the financial loss but also the violation of their personal space. As the community remains on alert, the police continue to pursue the criminals, hoping to restore a sense of safety to the neighbourhood.
