A tragic incident occurred last week in Philadelphia when a medevac jet crashed, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals, including 37-year-old Steven Dreuitt, who was in his car at the time. His nine-year-old son, Ramesses, was also injured and is currently receiving treatment for severe burns at a Boston hospital. Witness accounts reveal the jet collided with a road while carrying a paediatric patient and her mother, as well as four crew members. The crash caused extensive damage, showering debris across the area and igniting a fire.
Emergency responders found Dreuitt dead in his vehicle, while all six aboard the jet also lost their lives. The jet was reportedly returning to Mexico following medical treatment for the child at a Philadelphia hospital. Mayor Cherelle Parker confirmed that at least 24 people on the ground sustained injuries from the incident. Meanwhile, the family of Dreuitt is prioritising Ramesses’ recovery and has requested privacy during this difficult time.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the cause of the crash, collecting debris and examining critical flight data. The cockpit voice recorder and other key components have been sent to a lab for analysis as authorities seek answers regarding this devastating event.
