Family and friends of Thi Kim Tran, who was tragically kidnapped from her home in Bankstown, Sydney, and later found dead, are mourning her loss and demanding justice. Originally from Vietnam, the 45-year-old had relocated to Australia in search of a brighter future and to raise her family.
On the night of her abduction, a group of masked assailants stormed her home where she was with her children. An eight-year-old boy is still recovering in an induced coma after sustaining serious injuries during the attack, while their father was away on business in Queensland and is not considered a suspect.
Following her kidnapping, Ms Tran’s body was discovered in a burnt-out vehicle in nearby Beverly Hills. The shocking nature of the incident has left her loved ones in disbelief. A relative expressed their anguish on social media, appealing to the local government to ensure justice for Ms Tran. Friends described her as a devoted mother who did not deserve such a horrific fate, stating, “Everyone is in shock.”
Investigations are being led by homicide detectives, who are exploring potential motives, including the possibility that Ms Tran was targeted due to connections to a nearby drug syndicate, although she herself is not believed to have had any involvement in criminal activities. Statements from officials, including Deputy Premier Prue Car, echoed the community’s desire for justice, highlighting their shared sorrow for the family during this challenging time.
The brutal nature of this crime has sparked widespread outrage, calling attention to the urgent need for safety in the community.
