David and Desiree Mills are the proud parents of ten children, but their family has been put to the test over the past 15 months due to a serious health crisis affecting their youngest son, two-year-old Jonah. The couple, who married young, have endured the heartache of living five hours apart because of Jonah’s stage 4 neuroblastoma.

Desiree has been staying at Ronald McDonald House in western Sydney, conveniently located near Westmead Children’s Hospital, where Jonah has been undergoing intense treatments, including chemotherapy and radiation. Meanwhile, David is back in their rural hometown of Grenfell, managing the household and caring for their other children alone.

In a heartfelt interview with A Current Affair, Desiree expressed the challenges the family has faced: "We’ve been blessed with the most beautiful family but it’s tough now, it’s really tough." The emotional toll has been heightened by the news that scans revealed Jonah’s cancer has returned, turning their hopes and fears upside down.

Throughout this difficult period, the Mills have received tremendous support from their local community. Now, they are reaching out for broader support from across Australia, hoping that the nation will rally behind them during this challenging time.
