Tyson Pedro, a former UFC fighter, has recently begun training with legendary boxer Jeff Fenech, sparking significant media attention. The collaboration follows Fenech’s split from rising Australian middleweight Brock Jarvis, who is scheduled to fight on March 12. Reports suggest Fenech’s focus has shifted to Pedro, particularly as Pedro prepares for his boxing debut against undefeated Taimoor Khan on February 14.
Pedro, who has maintained contact with Fenech for over a year, clarified that his relationship with Fenech has been longstanding, and he not part of the split between Fenech and Jarvis. He expressed respect for Jarvis and stated his primary concern is his upcoming fight. With a background of five amateur wins in boxing, Pedro is aware of the stakes in turning professional. Contrary to typical debuts, he has opted for a challenging opponent, showcasing his commitment and confidence in his skills.
Pedro also highlighted his dedication to learning from the best, having trained with various champions, and emphasised that he believes in his ability to succeed in the boxing world. He aims to prove his mettle and respect the sport by not taking the easy route in his professional journey.
