Terrell May has expressed that he won’t pressure his brother, Taylan, regarding his future contract amid interest from the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Taylan, previously a centre for the Panthers, has been away from the NRL since July 2024 due to a no-fault stand-down following his arrest on domestic violence charges, which have since been dropped, allowing him to resume playing.
Recently, Taylan has visited South Sydney’s facilities, with club coach Wayne Bennett confirming their interest. Ahead of the Beer, Footy, Food Festival at North Sydney Oval, Terrell voiced his support for Taylan, stating, “I just said whatever’s going to make you happy, go and do that.” He emphasised the importance of Taylan making his own choices without any pressure from him.
Terrell expressed his hope that Taylan finds a place where he is truly content, whether that be with Souths or another team. He remarked, “I need to not be selfish and try to force him to come play with me. I just want him to be happy and enjoy life again.”
Following the withdrawal of Taylan’s charges, speculation arose about potential interest from the Wests Tigers, although they have not made any official statements on the matter. Meanwhile, Terrell has maintained his desire to play alongside Taylan and their brother Tyrone in the future, leaving the timing of such an opportunity in what he calls “God’s hands.”
