Jeff Fenech, a four-time boxing world champion, has changed his mind about working with Tyson Pedro after initially being hesitant due to personal health and family matters. Speaking to Wide World of Sports, Fenech shared that upon meeting Pedro and witnessing his potential, he regretted his earlier reluctance.
Fenech will now train Pedro for his professional boxing debut against unbeaten heavyweight Taimoor Khan on February 26. Fenech has praised Pedro’s dedication, noting how quickly the former UFC star adapts and learns, commenting on his remarkable improvement in power within a short time. He highlighted Pedro’s professionalism and willingness to absorb advice, attributing it to the promising foundation for success.
Pedro has faced challenges transitioning from MMA to boxing, with previous fights being postponed or cancelled. However, he is motivated and eager as he prepares for the upcoming event at Penrith’s Panthers club, where the WBC international bridgerweight title will be on the line. Fenech believes that with this level of commitment, Pedro could ascend the ranks in boxing rapidly, stating, “I’m so confident this guy’s going to wipe through these guys.”
