A former janitor from the Elizabeth Moore School in Upper Deerfield Township, New Jersey, has been sentenced to eight years in prison after admitting to contaminating cafeteria food. Giovanni Impellizzeri, 25, received a five-year term for official misconduct and a three-year sentence for possession of child abuse material, both to be served consecutively. His arrest followed the emergence of disturbing videos in November 2023, showing him tainting food with cleaning products and bodily fluids while on the job.
Impellizzeri, a Vineland resident who started working at the school in September 2019, also shared inappropriate footage of food contamination with an online group and was found to have child pornography in his possession. This led to additional charges for distribution of child abuse material as well.
During the investigation, Impellizzeri reportedly confessed to food tampering, describing his actions as “the devil’s work.” In January 2024, he pleaded guilty to the charges against him. The court has determined that he will be eligible for parole after completing five years of his sentence, followed by lifetime parole upon his release.
