Freshly discovered large paw prints in New South Wales’ Blue Mountains have rekindled local speculation about the existence of a panther in the area. This intriguing find was made by landscaper Dan Studders during a routine job in Kenthurst on Sunday. The prints were notably deep in compacted ground that had been prepared for turf, indicating a significant size. Studders noted that they did not resemble those of a domestic dog or cat, with one print being markedly larger than the other and a distance of about two metres between the tracks.

To provide a comparison of size, Studders placed his hand next to the prints, emphasising their unusual scale. He expressed that the tracks were impressive enough to draw his attention, raising the question of what creature could have made them. Over the past decades, numerous reports of panther sightings have emerged from locations including Lithgow to the Great Dividing Range, though none have been substantiated. Studders mentioned strange sounds heard at night, further fueling the area’s enduring mystery surrounding the possible presence of a panther.
