Police have initiated a manhunt in Geelong, Victoria, following the tragic death of an 82-year-old man from injuries sustained during an assault. The elderly victim was discovered around 11.50pm yesterday in an upstairs room at a hotel on Brougham Street. Authorities suspect that the assault was carried out by a man in his 30s, who was also a guest at the hotel.
Sadly, the elderly man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The suspect fled the location prior to police arrival, prompting detectives to launch an investigation. The area has been cordoned off and declared a crime scene as officers search for the assailant. Preliminary findings suggest that the incident was isolated and involved individuals who were acquainted with each other.
