Eileen Bond, the first spouse of the late business magnate Alan Bond, has passed away at the age of 87, as confirmed by her daughter. Eileen’s death occurred overnight with family members present, following a severe stroke she experienced on Sunday, which led to complications regarding her heart health.
Eileen and Alan Bond were married in 1955 at the young age of 17 and went on to have four children together. Their marriage lasted until their divorce in 1992. Alan Bond was well-known as a property developer who eventually expanded his ventures into brewing and company acquisitions. Notably, in 1987, he purchased the Channel Nine television network for an impressive $1 billion from media mogul Kerry Packer.
However, Alan’s business dealings took a downturn; he filed for bankruptcy in 1992 and, in 1997, he was sentenced to seven years in prison after admitting to charges of business fraud. His life concluded in June 2015.
Eileen’s legacy endures through their children and the noteworthy imprint she shared alongside Alan during his tumultuous journey in the business world.
