A police patrol in Campbellfield observed a white Audi travelling at speeds of up to 199km/h around Barry Road at approximately 11.10pm. Upon noticing the police vehicle, the driver allegedly accelerated rapidly and subsequently crashed into a silver Subaru at the intersection of Barry and Sydney Roads.

Following the collision, the driver of the Audi abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The Subaru was carrying two individuals—a 21-year-old man who was driving and a 19-year-old passenger—both of whom sustained significant injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment.

Authorities conducted a search of the surrounding area in an attempt to locate the Audi driver but were unsuccessful. Investigations are underway to determine whether the Audi was stolen prior to the incident.
