In a startling incident in Tarneit, Melbourne, a driver allegedly registered a blood alcohol level over four times the legal limit before crashing his Mitsubishi Triton into a house. CCTV footage captured the vehicle reversing uncontrollably down Rejoice Street around 10 PM on the night of the accident. The footage shows the ute veering off the road, overturning a tree, and then colliding with the home, scattering bricks and glass in the aftermath.
After the crash, the driver reportedly fled the scene but returned shortly thereafter, where he was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.205. Fortunately, neither he nor his passengers sustained any injuries during the incident. The 32-year-old driver from Tarneit was swiftly dealt with at the scene, having his license suspended immediately. He now faces potential charges related to drink driving.
Local residents shared their concerns, noting that a five-year-old boy usually sleeps in the front room where the crash occurred. Thankfully, on this occasion, the young boy and his family were at the rear of the property at the time of the incident, thus avoiding a potentially tragic outcome.
