CCTV footage has revealed the dramatic aftermath of a high-speed car crash in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, leaving one driver in critical condition and three others hospitalised. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM when a black Kia, reportedly stolen, collided with a white Kia sedan on Gilbert Road in Preston.

The collision was so severe that it pushed the white vehicle off the roadway, crashing into a brick fence of a townhouse and becoming entangled around a utility pole. Meanwhile, the black Kia struck a concrete barrier, flipped on its side, and continued its reckless path, ultimately crashing into a Toyota Yaris waiting at a traffic signal near Regent Street.

Inside the Yaris, a 27-year-old man from Pascoe Vale South sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The two women, both 23 years old, who were in the white Kia, had to escape through a window due to the wreckage. The black Kia, as it rolled on three wheels, eventually veered off the road and came to a halt in a nearby park.

The 25-year-old driver of the black Kia was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he remains in a critical state under police supervision. The driver and passenger from the white Kia were also admitted to the hospital with minor injuries but have since been discharged.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine if drugs, alcohol, or excessive speed were contributing factors in this alarming crash.
