A 28-year-old man was arrested on the NSW central coast for various gun and drug-related offences after reportedly threatening police and bystanders with a firearm. The incident began when officers spotted an unregistered Ford Falcon on Woy Woy Road around 5:40 PM and attempted to pull the driver over. The pursuit was called off due to dangerous driving.

Shortly after, police received a report that the same vehicle had crashed into a parked car and a telegraph pole on Lentara Road, Umina Beach. Upon confronting the driver, bystanders claimed he brandished a gun before fleeing the scene on foot. He was later located on Haynes Avenue, where he allegedly pointed a firearm at officers. In a de-escalation effort, police set aside their weapons, and after negotiations, the man surrendered.

Upon searching him, authorities discovered a firearm, a knife, and a plastic bag believed to contain methamphetamine. The individual was then taken to Gosford Hospital for assessment before being transported to Gosford Police Station. He faces 13 charges, including driving under the influence, unlicensed driving, and multiple drug and firearm offences. Bail has been refused, and he is set to appear before Gosford Local Court today.
