A man in Albany, Western Australia, was apprehended for driving under the influence after police spotted a beer bottle on his car’s roof. The incident occurred on Stirling Terrace shortly before 5pm on June 9. Bodycam footage recorded by officers revealed an officer asking the driver, identified as Reece, if he had consumed any alcohol that day. Reece denied it, only to be confronted with the beer on his roof, to which he laughed in surprise.
Following this, Reece underwent a breath test and recorded a staggering blood alcohol reading of 0.367, nearly eight times the legal limit. He was subsequently arrested and charged with driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Reece appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on July 6, where he was fined $4,000 and had his driving licence disqualified for three years.
