Donald Trump announced via social media his decision to revoke Joe Biden’s security clearances and intelligence briefings. He argued that Biden no longer requires access to classified information. Trump claimed this move was warranted as Biden had previously denied him such access when he was President, citing concerns over Trump’s behaviour following the 2020 election and the January 6 Capitol riot. Trump stated, “I will always protect our National Security — JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
While Biden has yet to respond directly, he previously expressed doubt about the necessity of Trump having intelligence briefings, questioning what value they provided. Trump’s revocation aligns with his ongoing campaign to address perceived injustices from his administration, which has included rescinding security clearances for numerous former officials.
Additionally, Trump signed an executive order to review Biden’s gun regulations, ordering Attorney General Pam Bondi to assess potential infringements on the Second Amendment rights of Americans within 30 days. This review will encompass Biden’s executive actions on firearms alongside other governmental rules and cases.
