The US president recently asserted that his influence encouraged a notable change in the recipe for a popular soft drink in America, replacing high-fructose corn syrup with cane sugar. Despite this shift in the United States, Coca-Cola Australia has firmly stated that no modifications will be made to their product offerings in Australia. The company clarified to 9news.com.au that their Coca-Cola Classic already exclusively uses cane sugar.
It’s worth noting that the Australian version of Coca-Cola is not the only one to utilise cane sugar; the soda sold in Mexico also opts for cane sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup. The latter is widely used due to its affordability as a sweetener, which initially prompted Coca-Cola to switch from cane sugar many years ago.
