Mason Cox has disclosed that he hasn’t viewed the footage of his recent finger injury, expressing concern that it might lead to frustration directed at the teammate involved. The Collingwood ruckman sustained the injury during training last week, preventing him from engaging in contact sessions as he recuperates. With the Magpies’ season opener against GWS looming on March 9, Cox is keen to recover quickly, hoping the injury will sideline him for only three to four weeks.
Cox mentioned that while there is a possibility he could return in time for the opening round, further scans are needed to determine his recovery timeline. Despite the incident being accidental, he has deliberately avoided watching the incident on video, worried that it might exacerbate his feelings towards the person responsible. “I don’t really want to know because I think I’ll be upset towards them at some point,” he remarked, highlighting his desire to maintain team harmony during his recovery process.
