Paea Teu, a 28-year-old Tongan national, allegedly attacked two Australian Border Force (ABF) officers using a makeshift weapon crafted from nail clippers during his transport from Villawood Detention Centre to Sydney Airport yesterday morning. The violent incident resulted in the officers being hospitalised, one suffering injuries to the neck, but both were reported to be in stable condition later that night.

Teu, who reportedly has a history of violent behaviour in Australia, was being deported due to overstaying his visa. Following the attack, he managed to flee the scene and was last seen walking towards Harris Park, dressed in a black hoodie and tracksuit pants. Authorities have advised the public not to approach Teu if spotted and urged anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
