After more than 1,000 days away from the boxing ring, Keith Thurman showcased his return with a stunning TKO win against Australia’s Brock Jarvis. Jarvis entered with aspirations to defy the odds but found himself floundering by the third round against the former welterweight champion.

Thurman identified flaws in Jarvis’ tactics during the second round and increased the power of his punches, leaving Jarvis visibly shaken. The American boxer unleashed a flurry of uppercuts that rendered Jarvis unable to stand, leading the referee to stop the bout in favour of Thurman.

Post-fight, Thurman expressed his passion for the sport, stating, “My love for the sport is still here, that’s why I did what I did today baby.” He aimed to demonstrate that he is back and ready for competition. Reflecting on the fight strategy, he mentioned observing Jarvis’ frustrations and knew he would falter under pressure.

With this victory, Thurman improved his professional record to 31 wins, 1 loss, and 22 knockouts, positioning himself for a potential clash with fellow Australian boxer Tim Tszyu in the near future. In attendance, Tszyu acknowledged that Thurman’s performance has motivated him to face the American, although he must first contend with Joey Spencer on April 6.

“I’m quite pumped up. He just got the appetiser,” Tszyu remarked, noting the insights gained from watching Thurman in action.

Thurman has not dismissed the idea of fighting Tszyu, confidently stating he’s willing to sign any contract presented to him. He also issued a warning to Tszyu regarding his upcoming match, highlighting his return after a long layoff and the challenge he represents.

“I just raised the bar on you, Tszyu. That’s three years of inactivity, and you see what I can do? I came back hard baby,” Thurman stated, indicating his readiness to face anyone in the boxing arena. “If that contract manifests, you know what I’m gonna do… send the contract, I’ll sign it,” he affirmed, eagerly desiring the opportunity to step into the ring against Tszyu or any contender.
