Cyclist fatally struck by bus near Taronga Zoo in Sydney

A tragic incident occurred outside Taronga Zoo in Sydney, where a cyclist in his 50s was fatally struck by a bus. Emergency services responded to the scene on Bradleys Head Road around 10:30 am, but the cyclist was pronounced dead at the location.

While the bus driver suffered no injuries, he was subsequently taken to hospital for routine testing. Four passengers on the bus were unharmed in the accident. Due to the serious nature of the incident, the zoo’s main entrance has been closed, resulting in significant traffic disruption in the area. Motorists are advised to avoid the vicinity as traffic diversions have been implemented.

The police are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, and a report will be compiled for the Coroner’s review.
