A 48-year-old man faced a harrowing experience early on a Saturday morning in Camp Hill, Brisbane, when he was threatened by two men wielding a machete as he sat in his car on Audrey Street around 6am. The assailants demanded the victim’s keys but fled the scene empty-handed shortly after the incident.
The duo made their escape in a Kia Sorrento, a vehicle reported stolen from a property in Kangaroo Point. This stolen car was later abandoned in close proximity to the crime scene. In addition to attempting to rob the victim, the pair were also implicated in the theft of two BMWs from a nearby residence.
One of these stolen BMWs, a silver BMW 320i, caught the attention of police shortly after midnight the following day. The driver attempted to evade officers but subsequently crashed the vehicle into a fence in Redcliffe. A 23-year-old man was apprehended at the crash site and is facing multiple charges related to driving and property offences.
Additionally, a 21-year-old man had previously been arrested and charged in connection with this incident. Police actions have led to progress in the investigation, and efforts continue to ensure justice for the victim and the recovery of the stolen items.
