Victoria has recently banned hire e-scooters in Melbourne’s CBD, leading to the removal of approximately 1,500 scooters following a decision by the Melbourne city council to terminate contracts with operators Neuron and Lime. Despite this ban, privately owned e-scooters remain legal for use within the city. In contrast, Yarra City Council is taking a proactive approach by promoting the use of e-scooters and e-bikes.
