American singer-songwriter Chris Brown has been detained in the United Kingdom following accusations of his involvement in an assault on fellow music producer Abe Diaw at “The Tape” nightclub in London earlier this year.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest, revealing that officers were alerted to Brown’s presence in the UK and subsequently located him in Manchester. The 36-year-old was taken into custody at a hotel in the early hours of Thursday, 15 May. He faces charges of grievous bodily harm related to an incident that occurred on 19 February 2023 at the nightclub located in Hanover Square.
Detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit are overseeing the ongoing investigation. As it stands, Brown remains in police custody as further inquiries continue. The singer first gained fame in the early 2000s with popular R&B tracks like “Run It!” and “Kiss Kiss.”
