Two childcare workers in Sydney have been charged for allegedly assaulting a 17-month-old boy at an early learning centre in South Wentworthville. The incidents reportedly took place on the same day, with the police claiming that both employees were involved in causing injuries to the child.
On June 26, authorities received reports regarding the injuries sustained by the toddler, prompting an investigation. As a result, the police issued court attendance notices to the two women involved. A 42-year-old woman faces charges of assault occasioning bodily harm and common assault, while a 32-year-old woman has been charged with common assault.
Both women are scheduled to appear in court on August 27. The police have urged any parents with concerns about the welfare of children in similar situations to reach out to the Child Protection Helpline or contact law enforcement for assistance.
