A 44-year-old man is currently recuperating in hospital following a violent attack in Adelaide, which has led to the arrest of both a man and a woman. The assault, captured on CCTV, depicts a dramatic chase where a woman pursues the victim down a street in South Plympton, while a nearby SUV narrowly misses him. The footage then reveals a physical confrontation involving the victim, the female assailant, and the SUV’s driver, during which the victim was struck multiple times on the head.
Emergency services responded to the scene on Laurence Street just before 5 p.m., discovering the victim with severe injuries. He was promptly taken to hospital for treatment. Authorities have indicated that this attack was not a random act of violence.
The incident has understandably unsettled local residents. One resident described the situation as “scary,” expressing that they frequently walk around the area without witnessing such violence. Another resident voiced their shock, stating they never expected a violent occurrence in the community, highlighting the area’s reputation as a family-friendly neighbourhood.
In the aftermath, police apprehended a 26-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both from South Plympton, later that evening. They have been charged with aggravated assault causing harm and have been denied bail.
