The event occurred around 12:20 pm on Douglas Parade in Williamstown, where the woman was reportedly struck in the head by the man, causing her to fall and lose consciousness, as confirmed by Victoria Police.
The footage shows the man approaching the elderly woman before the attack, and he can be seen walking away as she lies incapacitated on the ground. Bystanders quickly intervened, restraining the 39-year-old man until police arrived. Ambulance Victoria reported that the woman was transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition, with her injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
