Carlton Football Club has firmly stated that key forward Charlie Curnow is not for sale, following reports of his interest in a transfer to the Gold Coast Suns. The 28-year-old, who is contracted with the club until 2029, has apparently been exploring his options despite the Blues’ clear stance on his availability.
Recent discussions between the club’s newly appointed CEO, Graham Wright, and Curnow’s management highlighted the forward’s importance to the team. Wright reassured them that Curnow remains a crucial player for Carlton moving forward, emphasising that he is not on the market.
While Curnow has not officially requested a transfer, he is reportedly considering what a move to Queensland might entail, although he remains content with his current situation at Carlton. Commentator Morris noted that Curnow isn’t disgruntled but is evidently contemplating the possibility of a life away from Melbourne.
Curnow has had a successful career thus far, clinching two prestigious Coleman Medals during his time in the AFL, which underscores his talent and value to the team. Despite the speculation surrounding his future, it appears that Curnow’s commitment to the Blues endures, at least for the foreseeable future.
