In Bohmte, a town in northwestern Germany, a tragic accident occurred on Sunday when a car lost control and injured several individuals. The car first collided with a parked vehicle, then broke through a hedge and entered a garden, where it struck a seven-year-old boy who was playing on a trampoline. Following the impact, the vehicle navigated over uneven ground, which propelled it into the air, resulting in a crash onto the roof of a nearby barn, approximately three metres above the ground.

The police reported that the boy sustained serious injuries from the incident. The 42-year-old driver, whose identity remains unknown, along with his wife, also suffered significant injuries. Their two sons, aged 11 and 12, and a 13-year-old passenger were in the car as well but escaped with only minor injuries.

In response to the accident, emergency services were swiftly deployed, involving dozens of firefighters, multiple ambulances, and two rescue helicopters. Images from the scene depicted rescuers working to cut through the barn roof to access the wreckage, as well as remnants of the trampoline and playground that the vehicle had traversed.

Ultimately, a crane was necessary to remove the car from the barn’s roof, and it was subsequently taken away by the police. An investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
