Two five-year-old brown bears, Mish and Lucy, managed to escape their enclosure at Wildwood Devon, a wildlife park in the UK, and made a beeline for the food storage area. Their escapade allowed them to indulge in a significant amount of honey, consuming a week’s supply in mere minutes.

After the bears were spotted on the park’s CCTV cameras, it was confirmed that there was no danger posed to the public, as their attention was solely focused on the honey. Although Mish returned to the enclosure on his own after enjoying his feast, Lucy needed a bit of persuasion to return, responding to the sound of a bell and her favourite treats.

These European brown bears have quite an impressive appetite, capable of eating around 40 kilograms of food daily, with males weighing up to 350 kilograms and females around 250 kilograms. Mish and Lucy were rescued in 2019 from a snow drift in Albania, and they are both thriving in their current environment at the wildlife park.
