A body has been discovered during the search for a spearfisherman who went missing two days ago at Seal Rocks, located on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales (NSW). While the identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed, authorities believe it belongs to a 32-year-old man reported missing.

Police divers located the body around 11:30 AM, close to the spot where the spearfisherman was last seen. Emergency services were alerted to the situation at Myall Lakes National Park, Seal Rocks, on Wednesday morning around 10:50 AM, when the diver failed to resurface after entering the water.

Witnesses indicated that the diver had entered the water near Skeleton Rock approximately thirty minutes before the alarm was raised. In response, an extensive search operation was quickly initiated, encompassing aerial, terrestrial, and aquatic avenues in a bid to locate the diver.

The investigation is ongoing, and a report will be compiled for the coroner to ascertain further details surrounding the incident. The efforts of police, along with Marine Rescue teams from Port Stephens and Forster Tuncurry, played a vital role in the search.
